Missing d3dx9_43.dll?

Whenever I try to open up Stepmania it keeps saying it can't start because d3dx9_43 is missing? Has anyone else experienced this issue and has overcame it please help me out.

Many users were having the same issue as you with the last two releases, including me.

It should get your DirectX setup up-to-date to allow StepMania to run. Not sure whether you need ro reboot for it to take effect.

I think it doesn't necessary need to install the whole DirectX. What I did is I downloaded the only missing file and put it inside StepMania/Programs folder and it worked.

I don't think Microsoft made those files availably separately, and I don't trust single .dll DirectX files from non-Microsoft websites. Besides, it doesn't hurt to have your DirectX properly updated entirely right?
I don't think the whole package that you get with Microsoft's installer takes that much space anyways, it's pretty much nothing with nowadays' average storage capacities.
