Forums » StepMania Releases » Missing d3dx9_43.dll solution no longer working

I know the thread on this was shut down, but I have a good reason for reopening it.

The links to Microsoft's page that Thumbsy and shakesoda so kindly posted no longer work. The link referenced in the FAQ is the same and hence doesn't work either. I found another link from Microsoft for DirectX 9 here, but when I ran that one it said I had to be running one of a few really old systems to use it.

I'm running Windows 10 with DirectX 12, which according to the Microsoft rep I talked to should handle anything that a previous version of DirectX could handle. Obviously that's not the case.

I agree with shakesoda that one should not get DLL's from websites other than an official source, but I would trust someone on here, so can someone upload this DLL to a data hosting site for me? This shouldn't be this hard to fix.

the original page is redirecting to some Windows 10 related thing; managed to find an alternate link on Microsoft.com via Google (searching "dxwebsetup.exe")...

Thank you, freem. It works beautifully now. I just didn't know exactly what to search for.

The solution to this problem is:
Download DirectX end- user runtime on microsoft page (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displayLang=en&id=35)

Installing this, the problem has to be solved[
