My dance pad isn't working, and I'm out of ideas why.

Hi,
I've recently bought a new dance pad, similar to this one:

The problem is that, it isn't working.
I've tried on my new laptop with Ubuntu 14.04 and Windows 10 installed, but on Windows i get an error : Unknown USB Device (Device Failed Enumeration)
I'm new Ubuntu user, but as far as I can tell, my pad IS detected but not as game controller, and I don't actually know how to change that.
I've also tried on my old Windows 7 32-bit laptop with quite old USB 2.0 ports, but unfortunately here I also get an error: Unknown Device and Code 43.
When I uninstall it, and then scan for hardware changes, the driver gets installed, but immidately after that, it fails.
Dance mat in Stepmania isn't working either.

I've searched through the Internet, but I still don't know what can be the cause of my problems.
I'm quite hopless now.
But I'd be thankful for any kind of help :)

So... have you made any progress on solving this so far?

Also, from what I can see, this dance mat is supported only up to Windows XP and not 7,8 or 10.
Looks like I'll have to try installing XP.
