I purchased the Omega GX during their black friday sale on nov 2013. I haven't even plugged in the pad until today. I just bought it because it was on sale, and I may decide to play on it later. So as part of this years Bean Dive (a trueachievement community challenge) I decided put in my DDR universe 1 into my 360. There was no response. I tried testing the inputs on stepmania, there was no detection.

I'm not sure if it's the control box, although I did request a control box that worked with the 360 rather than one that worked with PS3. Beyond that I have no idea why it's not even being detected. It has been in an upright position for roughly 7-8 months, without any use. The control box was still tied and wrapped in the shipping bubble wrap. Possibly a faulty Box?

I haven't been up to date with all the changes to stepmania's site.

I guess I just solved my own problem. I tried it with Stepmania 3.9 and it's detecting... however it's odd that my xbox 360 isn't detecting it. I read on PDP's FAQ's that Omega GX just isn't recognized on stepmania 5.

Actually an older version of SM5 accidentally dropped support for all input joypads. Get the latest version or use older StepMania builds.+

The X360 control box is not our standard fare. If you have one it would literally be a white control box with a handle and an Xbox button in the center. If you don't have this control box then your pad won't work on X360. I don't believe we offered custom control boxes for our sale, it was a specific skin, pad, and control box, no options as we had them bulk made. If you still want X360 support we can make you one, I have 20 X360 circuit boards that don't work with PC but will work on the 360, there isn't much demand for X360 and PS3 control boxes so I haven't enabled these choices in the shop but I can absolutely make them.

Thanks for the reply. I checked up on previous order comments, and sent you a followup email. Basically didn't notice the reply comment that stated you ran out of xbox control parts. I'll try to buy the cronusMAX to test if that can work. It'll at least be a multi-use hardware.

Good luck, additional converters / adapters will always add lag unless it's a straight pass-through extender. So building console specific control boxes will always be superior but a tiny bit of lag is playable so best of luck and report back on how it works out.
