Got two Impact Dance pads (USB ones, no drivers provided, no drivers on thiers website, ignoring all my mails to support)
Have Windows x64 (also tried Kubuntu out of desperation - exactly the same problems described bellow)
Windows detects device as digital and maps arrow buttons to axis also do not detect any simultaneous presses at all (on pad, on keyboard I can press half of it at once with no problem - usb one not ps/2)
So for example if I have "right hold" and than have to tap other button during it it will just press "right" again
Also no doubles (well of course no triples/quadraples in "twister" mode :))
Thought it is maybe brand problem but tried to connect my old pad (which I extensively ruined in windows xp) and it have exactly the same problem in both Windows and Kubuntu (also tried 32 bit one with same results)

Tried to enter dance code - only thing it managed was totally disable mat input (and constantly pressing up right) making it not react at all still remaining installed incorrectly(than had to do drivers wipe for it to register again)

Any help would be apreciated (I am trying to make them work almost the month now and going crazy from it)

Don't they offer a 3-year warranty?
Try and find a phone number, I believe they offer a lengthy manual I bet there's a contact # in there, otherwise just send them back that's alot of $ to spend on a product if they aren't providing technical support and it doesn't work out of the box.

Another solution would be to rip out the electronics and install your own, at the heart of it you bought a plastic pad with a few sensors that go to a circuit board that outputs to USB. If you can determine where each wire goes you can theoretically just install a new circuit board.

EDIT: Oh sorry the Impact pads are the soft ones, for soft pads you should be buying from trusted sources mainly: Dance Pad Mania
http://dancepadmania.com/
They are the only soft pads recommended by StepMania.com. I thought you were talking about the Impact Arcade $1000 pads.

Good to know that PG soft pads have axis problems, I've tried out many soft pads but I've never had a pad from PG. One work-around some people do with soft pads is to actually remove the tape-wire harness in the control box from the circuit board and to slide the entire thing over by one section (you may have to trim the ground if it contacts another input) then re-attach. This will cause all the inputs in the pad to shift. It's not pretty but it can work if the circuit board and dance pad have enough inputs.

I just found out how to fix the axis dance pad problem many people have. It works for any pad, even if they are console controllers using an adapter. Its too lengthy of instructions to post here, but I created a post early today with everything you need
