A couple of years ago I purchased a Red Octane Multi Platform Pad. The Breakaway Cable Cord from usb to xbox was damaged and I'm trying to find another replacement without buying a new mat. The breakaway cables I keep finding are for Xbox 360 and not the original xbox. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I hope I'm not too late on this, I have a very similar problem. I have no idea where to find those breakaways. Replacements must exist somewhere. I have 2 of the pads that support the USB attachments but only one USB attachment (I bought one used for a great price despite it having no USB)

Have you had any luck

This wasn't hard to find.

That's the original xbox breakaway cable. OP is looking for an xbox breakaway to USB, which is what their dance pad uses for the PC connection. So that cable is not the same thing (Notice the end that plugs in. The ebay item is an xbox controller connector, while OP's is USB)

If you can't find the proper cable on eBay, you can always buy the spare connector off of ebay and a USB cable, and then cut the ends off of each and solder it together. I've done that for connecting my xbox controller to my PC, as well as plugging in USB devices into my original xbox (the xbox connector is just a modified USB)

So is that the same breakaway cable the X360 uses? I have several of those and they can be found on ebay.

No, original xbox breakaway cable is different from the 360 breakaway cable. Also the redoctane dance pads that had USB PC support had a PS2 and original XBOX connector. However, it came with two breakaway ends for the xbox cable; A standard xbox connector and a USB connector. You would swap the xbox breakaway connector for the one that has a USB end, which would then plug into the computer. So in simple terms, it had a PS2 connector, and the xbox breakaway which came with two cables, a standard xbox and a USB.
You can't just buy these cables, as they were pretty much made only for this device. You can, however, purchase a XBOX to USB adapter, and then just plug in the standard xbox breakaway cable into that adapter and it should work exactly the same.
