Dance Pad mania working in control panel but not 5.07

So I installed stepmania 5.07
Plug the USB game pad mania
The game pad is working in control panel (windows 7)
But nothing is happening when I start the game

Can someone help me with some instruction?

Does StepMania detect the pad when you go to Test Input in the options?
If so, you probably just need to assign the right key mappings.
