hello
i recently bought a dance pad with 11 key from ebay.
but i got only 10 buttons in windows control panel. the center key is missing.
i can see there is 11 black lines ( incl. big ground one as 12 total ) from the pad motherboard
the center key got as well black strip which indicate its a working key.
is there anything i can do so windows could reconigte the missing key

thanks

I'm not sure I understand your problem. Could you show me a picture of the dance mat you bought? That might help us narrow it down.

The control box probably only supports 10 buttons.
You need to make or buy a control box that actually supports them all.

Some very old versions of the Cobalt Flux had a control box that didn't support the center button. If it's one of those, then that's definitely the problem.

bought this one.
In control panel its come up as GA451-USB Device with axis and 10 buttons.
When i program 10 buttons in Stepmania and when to test Input.
I see there is 2 unprogramed buttons.

There's no need to worry about that. As long as your controller is set up to use the buttons only, that input will be ignored by stepmania. Some control boxes tend to do that for some reason (I know mine does when using it with my beatmania controller).

As for the center button on your dance mat, I'm not sure that there is one. Did you take it apart to look at the internal workings of the pad (the "black strip" you mention)? It could well be that the center panel is simply not wired up, some cheaper manufacturers do tend to do that.

UP and LEFT are only discovered by hitting a combination of arrows, you don't want to ever see them. The center is mapped as DOWN. If it's not working there may not be a ground under the center panel, I know that these pads do have circuitry for all 11 inputs but I've never tried to see if any of them worked. The center is as the OP said wired up to the control box, but there may not be a ground wire under the center and it would be nearly impossible to check without destroying the pad.

These pads / circuit boards are made in China in a factory that just spits them out, prints the conductors, sews the fabric etc. There's a benefit for them to make as much of the pads identical for quick production. So it would make sense that the top of the pad may be wired for different uses but the bottom to be printed differently and a generic circuit board that works with either. I don't know if that's true or not just speculation.
