So there are forums upon forums and boards upon boards of this problem, but I am asking again to see if there are any new revelations.

I have 2 soft dance mats, reinforced by duct taping them to closed cell foam boards.

One is a Playstation mat plugged into an adaptor I found on amazon.co.uk, the other is USB.

On Stepmania 5, I can configure both to work with a bit of tweaking here and there.

With the "proper" Stepmania, with the dancers, announcers and animations, I can only get the USB mat to work. The Playstation mat suffers the axis problem, where only one button registers at a time.

Has anyone found a guaranteed way around this? Or am I best to just get another USB mat?

Thanks!

I also am having this problem, just got an adapter I paid $10 for from eBay

I remember reading somewhere that a new version of stepmania could fix this problem but I downloaded the latest release and no luck...

if anyone could help please

I created a thread a while back addressing a fix for some devices. Have a go and see if it works:

It seems to have fallen back a few pages now that it hasn't been updated in a while, but the method should still work.

this what i did but the only thing different is it will be listed as xbox 360 controller when u try to update the drive.

i did this with metal tournament dance pad. im on window 8.1 theres a feature in the windiws 8.1 settings and u must first disable the unsign drive for the pc to read the device.

u need ps2 to xbox 360 adapter for this to work.
