Hi,

New to Stepmania,

I was wondering if anyone had experience with using a Deluxe D-Force pad from Dance Pad Mania with Windows 10 and if there are any issues or if it is just plug and play.

Also, do the extra arrows (corners and center) on the Dance + Pump pad interfere with standard ddr stepmania or vice versa for pump it up style? I would like to get the 9 sensor pad, but don't know if it will be a pain with interferences compared to the four sensor model.

Finally, is there a search function for this forum? Can't seem to spot it?

Thanks all. Glad to be here.

Hi,
Got my dance+pump D-Force pad and played Dance (DDR) and Pump with it (separately). Mapping was easy after watching a youtube video and reading a few forum posts. Pad responds well and has firm 1" foam and fits very snuggly. The fabric is fairly thick. I have been playing on it for about an hour and am beginning to notice the outlines of the arrows which are supposed to be raised, but it must be slight or foam has expanded around it during storage. A little challenging to reach sensors diagonal from each other during pump, more so than ddr anyway. Maybe it's just short legs. I've notices I have to mush my foot into the foam about a finger thickness to set off the sensor, which took some brief getting used to. Quickly performing gentle mushing is a bit of a challenge, but may pick up with use ... i hope.Don't know how that with change with time. The thin mats just need a gentle tap. No problem with non-game sensors going off since stepmania pretty much guides the right sensors to push to map. Smooth sailing on windows ten for the pad, stepmania 5 and 3.9 whatever it was, although i had to set 3.9 to backwards compatible with XP in windows properties. Going to try a couple other old PC mat games I found on ebay and hopefully they work in XP compatibility mode as well, just out of curiosity. Remember to use a usb2.0 slot I've heard, not the 3.0. 3.0 has 4 shiny teeth at the back of the PC input, 2.0 does not, from what i can tell.

I also snagged a "Like New" (hopefully) Logic3 Pro pad off ebay to use on my PS2. So it will be interesting to compare the experience when it arrives from jolly old England to me here in the U.S. of A.

Good times,
