Mm. I found that little .lua workaround, so now EPSILON actually works OK.
Still, my scripted videos and whatnot work best in 3.9, plus preferred themes are in 3.9+ so I'll still try to get it to work with that eventually, but at least I can have my group play with me properly again.
EDIT: I'm dumb and don't know what I'm talking about. Since I'm assuming that the CF circuit board isn't internal and resides within the control box, do you think replacing my current control boxes with ones from your website might do the trick?
Thank you guys a whole ton for the suggestions--! I'm really pleasantly surprised that I got them.

Yes I am sure that getting one of our control boxes would do the trick. I DO NOT use those PS3 circuit boards unless someone requests one just for the PS3 before I thought they worked on PS3 and PC but after that problem I learned a lesson. I have specific boards for PC that work like a charm with all flavors of StepMania and all operating systems, I fully trust them and we use them for the Cobalt Flux pad control boxes as well.

Just make sure you test all your options though. The fact it wasn't a problem before and now is, could be the circuit board is going out nothing lasts forever, but if it's happening the same on both pads swap the boards, you know just check, does your StepMania build play fine with keyboard without misses? Can you try hooking up another joypad like a regular usb joypad and test with that to see if there are any misses, etc. If the problem seems to be isolated to one or both c-boxes then sure you could get one of ours to test it out.
