Dance Pat Works fine and then stops registering steps

Hi

I recently bought DDR V3 Tournament PS2 / PS Metal Dance Pad from craigslist and a PS2 to USB adapter from ebay
Install the Twin PS to PC adapter driver that came with the adapter. Put the mat on dance mode. When I lunch stepmania 5 beta 4. Everything works but after maybe after 6 or 7 steps it stops registering for like 5 seconds and then it starts registering again. I have a windos 7 32 bit and it happens too in the mac version. Am I missing something here maybe a configuration or has anybody experience the same problem ?

Update: I was able to replicate the same problems going to the PS to PC converter Properties. Some of the mat buttons get stuck. I disconnected the mat and the problem persisted. I am thinking that the ps2 to usb device might be the problem. I will try a different adapter any suggestions?

Update 2: I bought the Super Dual box Pro Playstation 2 to USB from ebay. Now everything works flawlessly.

First, try the pad with a PS2, it could be your control box rather than the adapter.

Second, just build a control box that has native USB adapters suck.
