Settings

Hello, i'm very new to this game and I the settings seem very confusing. The default settings are to distracting and I want them to be minimalistic for play. (pretty much staiains settings)

Hi, and welcome to Stepmania! Did you find out about us from the AGDQ stream?

If I recall correctly, staiain uses the ultralight theme. Themes can alter the entire look and feel of the game, and in some cases even how the game itself plays. The ultralight theme in particular is a no-nonsense, completely bare-bones theme which I personally use myself.

To install and use the theme, download it as a ZIP on that page. In the zip should be a folder called ultralight-master. Extract the zip into

%APPDATA%/StepMania 5/Themes

then open Stepmania again, go into Options > Display Options > Appearance and change the theme to ultralight. When you exit that menu the theme should change automatically.

spawncamping-wallhack also has relatively minimalistic design. staiain appears to use a modified version of ultralight, which includes some features also found in spawncamping-wallhack.
