so i just installed stepmania 5.0.10 and i got this error:

Initializing d3d...
SetVideoMode failed: CreateDevice failed: 'D3DERR_INVALIDCALL';CreateDevice failed: 'D3DERR_INVALIDCALL';CreateDevice failed: 'D3DERR_INVALIDCALL';CreateDevice failed: 'D3DERR_INVALIDCALL'

Initializing opengl...

Is my video card too old for Stepmania 5?

That might be the case, seeing that both the d3d and opengl renderers failed to start. Normally I'd suggest using the opengl renderer to fix this kind of issue but if that's failing as well then it might be that stepmania's using a newer version of openGL than your graphics card supports. Have you tried any other version of stepmania before this one (openITG, etc)? And do they work?

No i didn't. This my first time installing it.

Why would this type of game require a better graphics card anyways? Just want to know.

Your integrated card seems to be based on GMA 3000, which is very old but I once had a computer with GMA 3100 and ran StepMania 5 pretty well (although on Linux).
Maybe you could try updating your DirectX with this program or downgrade to an older version of SM5 like beta 4. Just note that older versions are not supported.

Another option is to update your Intel driver, but I doubt there's a more recent version of that.
