Forums » General StepMania » Songs w/lua can't open in edit

Ok, so, after being inspired by Windeu, I've decided to take up using lua in stepfiles.
I tested the lua example here and it worked.
Only problem is, I can't open the file in edit mode. It plays, but can't be opened in edit mode. The game just crashes.
Just thought I'd put this out there.

I can edit that lua example file just fine in the default theme using the tip of the github repository. Could you describe the crash and the theme and stepmania version you're using?

< maxvg1> shakesoda: then why do i still play lol
<@shakesoda> because you're an ITG player. And thus, a masochist

I didn't actually open the sample file, I just put the lua code into one of my stepfiles to test it. It worked and I can play the file. But as soon as I try to open it in edit mode, the game just crashes. I can check the log later(is there a log, or is that only oITG?)
I'm using the default theme, with Stepmania beta 1a on Linux.

The log file is in ~/Logs/log.txt
If you're on beta 1a because there's not an official build for beta 3, well, you'll get a build sooner by resolving whatever problem prevents you from building the source and building the source.

Sorry for not responding earlier, busy with end of the year school stuff.
There was no ~Logs folder, so idk.
If I don't respond soon, I'm probably busy.

Sorry, brain malfunction on my part. I should have said "~/.stepmania-5.0/Logs/log.txt".

Yeah... I'm still on sm-ssc because compiling beta 2a never worked for me.
So my folder isn't stepmania-5.0.
I'll try compiling beta 3 though.
BTW, thanks for all your help so far.

Oh, derp, I didn't notice the dot in front of stepmania!
Anyway, everything seemed normal in the log until I got to this:
02:45.069: TEXTUREMAN LEAK: '/Songs/DAT PACK DOEE/SPACE/YDVCD.png', RefCount = 26.

02:45.070: TEXTUREMAN LEAK: '/Themes/default/Graphics/Common fallback banner.png', RefCount = 1.
02:45.070: TEXTUREMAN LEAK: '/Themes/default/Graphics/StreamDisplay hot.png', RefCount = 48.
02:45.070: TEXTUREMAN LEAK: '/Themes/default/Graphics/StreamDisplay normal.png', RefCount = 96.

That's the file I was trying to open. Not sure what "TEXTUREMAN LEAK" means.
