Fatal Error on startup (Old video card)

Hello there, i wanted to ask for a solution in the old video card driver crash..
Log tells me that it's not a bug and tells me to get support from the stepmania wiki but then i enter the page it says this
Anybody got a solution for this? Been playing on the older stepmania 5 releases until march and then today i downloaded the newest and found the error

I've Had this issue on StepMania 5.0.7 only (im guessing it was this version for you too). I got it to work eventually but only because i am on windows xp now. My suggestion would be to just use StepMania 5 beta 4a. It's the next best one to use and it works.

My guess is that the drivers for your video card are out of date or something. Try installing newer drivers.

Not outdated, those were the last ones that came out (Very old video card indeed) But thanks for the reply to both of you, I'll search for beta 4a again

I'm fairly certain this is what would have broken it for that GPU. If you reverted this commit and compiled it yourself, it'd run again, but I don't think it's worth it for us to revert this (it's a notable speed improvement for anything actually made in the last 10 years)

It's entirely possible to make fallback behavior here, if someone is up to it (I wouldn't reject the patch, as long as there was a comment in the code as to *why* one would want that)
