Hello.

Well, i got some little store and, i'm building by myself an arcade machine base in this game for my clients to play.

For you guys to know what i got, this is it:

22'' monitor
+
notebook runing windows 7 with stepmania 5
+
arcade controllers designed by myself with usb cord
+
random chinese coin acceptor
+
usb timer device called JY-18B TIMER BOARD
+
the whole structure supporting all this, wooden.

So, basically, you put a coin, and the device called JY-18B activates you the controllers by 10minutes for you to play. But, you know, seeing that stepmania have that weird "coin" option, i would like to ask if there is a way to setup the playing by a certain quantity of songs when you put a coin, that way i can take off from the ecuation the JY-18B TIMER DEVICE and people just play X quantity of songs.

This is my very first time doing this, and, i just want to improve it...if there is no way, well, ill keep the machine with playing based on "time".

Thanks for your support!

First, you'll need some way to make the coin acceptor appear as a USB input device to the computer. I'll leave that up to you.

Once you have that set up, bind it to the Insert Coin button in StepMania 5, then go into Arcade Options, switch the Coin Mode to Pay, and then turn off event mode. You may also want to remove Endless mode from the default theme mode selection.

thanks for the input....how do i remove the enless option? and, do you know maybe how to remove the "exit" option?

thanks!

If the game is in Pay or Free Play mode, the Exit option will not appear on the title screen. I will get back to you about removing endless, but it is not hard.

EDIT: Make sure you're only using songs that are legal to use. Most fan files and any files taken from an official dance game are illegal to use. You might not even be able to use the SM5 sample songs.

i'm aware about the song issue, but, its ok, im taking care...by the way, i tried that arcade mode, and all the menu is not showing, which is good for the purpose, but, do you know how to take it back again without uninstalling/installing the program?

thanks!

You can hit the Scroll Lock button to get back to the operator menu, assuming there's a keyboard hooked up.
