a little help

Been gone for a while, but still play (had Alpha 2) i recently downloaded some song packs but i couldn't get them into the game. Now upgraded to beta 4 and still can't get new songs. If someone could help me i would be very grateful.

Could you provide more detail?
What folder did you put the pack in? Did you leave the pack as a .zip or .rar or unpack it? If you unpacked it, how is the directory set up?
If you're on linux, it should go something like this:

stepmania (main folder)

    Songs/

      (song pack folder)/

          (song1)/

              song1.sm

              song1.mp3
