Forums » General Questions » [FIXED] [Mac] First run success, later runs crash immediately

1
I'm using Mac OS X + the latest version of StepMania 5.

The first run for SM5 was a success - no errors or issues. After I closed Stepmania and installed some songs, SM would crash right away. I then tried removing the songs and rebooting. Crash. I then removed SM from my applications folder, removed all StepMania 5 references from ~/Library/Preferences/, ~/Library/ApplicationSupport, and rebooted. I reinstalled Stepmania with a fresh download, and crash.

I believe there is a folder or file not in ~/Library/Preferences, ~/Library/ApplicationSupport, and /Applications that I am missing when attempting to reinstall Stepmania. This file is most likely what is causing the problems- it might be causing the RageDisplay_Legacy class it not properly initialize due to bad or corrupt data.

Furthermore, SM does not even attempt to reload songs. It goes straight to the crash screen without brining up the song loading window.

The crash report mentions a /Save/ folder, but I can't find that folder anywhere. Any searches for a save folder and the file mentioned in the crash report result in no hits, so the folder is most likely hidden. The related file was a successful load (/Save/MachineProfile/Stats.xml). If I can find the /save/ folder, I might be able to remove it and do another re-install of SM5.

Here is a copy of the crash report:

I resolved the problem by unplugging my monitor. This is a laptop- most likely the monitor was causing problems somewhere.
