Or, what are the sound devices names so I can provide them in Preferences.ini under Sounddevice=?
Linux nerds are blessed with consistent devices names and tutorials such as on http://blog.krill.se/2011/01/04/getting-sound-out-of-stepmania/ while leaving us casual users stranded.
The work-around I found for my problem is temporarily setting desired sound device as default during the game.
Logs only provided me with the sound device name of "Directsound-sw" and nothing else.
