Title says it all. I put the songs in the Songs folder where the game is installed, the songs are not the issue. Songs that are bundled with StepMania do not appear either, which is really weird.
Check what game type it's set to. In the default theme, the game type is visible on the left side. If it's not set to dance, that's probably the problem. You can change it through the Select Game menu.
