I'm using windows 8. I downloaded some songs for stepmania and at the start menu when you first load the game up it says I have 6 songs to play. That number is correct but when i go to normal mode to play songs all of the slots say empty.

Please help I really want to try this game I love rythm games.

You probably accidentally changed the game type. Go to Select Game on the menu and change it back to "dance".
