what happened to recording steps in stepmania!!??

i just downloaded stepmania because i took a break off of it
and when i make steps for it there was a option in the menu
where i could just record the song and add in my steps while it was recording the song..
so what happened to that option!!?
am i not looking in the right place or what? i very confused cause that is the way i actually made my steps
someone please tell me where has that option went?
