I've been able to play SM5 on my Macbook Pro for the past two years without any issues. Now, when I play, the internal fan spins a lot more, meaning the game is causing overheating issues. I've tried playing on less resource-intensive themes and noteskins, as well as deleting content I don't need, and it's barely helped. What can I do about this besides just giving up on the game entirely?

1) Make sure VSync is on (this limits how fast the game will run)
2) You may need to clean your fans/heatsinks out, it shouldn't overheat even at full load.

Thanks! I already have VSync turned on, but I can't clean the fans right now. When I get the chance to clean the fans, I'll reply to this thread whether it worked or not.

Cleaning out the fans didn't work. I'm gonna send in the laptop for repairs to see if that'll help, but I don't know when I'll be able to.

The fan was replaced, and everything is working fine now.
