Multiple SM/SSC files per song

Is there a way to put multiple sm/ssc files in the same song folder?

basically i wanted to see if it was possible to have the main ssc file with all the meta data, and split the notedata into multiple files.

something like:
songname\
songname.ssc
songname-dance-single-easy.ssc
songname-dance-single-medium.ssc
songname-dance-single-hard.ssc

Stepmania does not require the ssc file to have a particular name. So if there were multiple ssc files in a folder, it would have no way to know which is the "master" file.

I specifically shot down every proposal which involved doing this to the ssc format. So you can't.

seems a bit backwards to not allow this ability, especially with the size these files can get, but i can work around it.
as a programmer, with files with this many lines, it gets unwieldy, breaks a lot of comparison tools, and makes it a pain to find what you are looking for.

but i digress, i will work around the limitation for my project.
