Stepmania appeared to have installed properly but when I clicked on the StepMania.exe icon in C:/Games/StepMania 5/Program folder it gives me an error message stating that the MSVCR120.dll is missing and suggests that I reinstall the program. I in stalled the StepMania 3 time in my computer with Windows 8 and once on my computer with Windows 7 and I continue to have the same problem. I read the FAQ and installed DirectX9 by following the link provided. this did not help either. If anyone has any suggestions they would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
you have to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 package for x86 (even if you're running 64 bit)
