Background Video Issues

Hi guys, used to play stepmania a lot and I recently dug out my old pad and wanted to give it a go again.

So I was able to build Stepmania 5.0.9 (20150630) on my Ubuntu 14.04 machine from the Git and everything works well except for one thing.

Here is my screenshot during a song that has a music video in the background:


Any ideas as to why this is?

To my understanding, videos in Stepmania don't work with linux os. You can turn the brightness down to 0 or delete the video entirely to get rid of that glitchy-ness

Videos work just fine on linux.
The glitchy mess is probably a bad graphics driver or mismatched ffmpeg version.
