Is there like a way to kill stepmania from it's loading instead of waiting for it to load everything? I guess like in instances where I accidentally load stepmania twice at the same time instead of just one window for it it would be really handy to have so I don't have to wait forever and have everything lag beyond hell because of it.

Have you tried using task manager?
kill -9 works fine for killing extra instances on Linux.

It was possible to kill it during loading for a while, but the source changes to make that work were so bad that they were removed so the next time anyone touches that they don't go insane...
