stepmania not responding

when i start stepmania (version 5.0.7) the screen is black for a while and then error saying 'stepmania not responding' but the day before it was working perfextly fine.can someone please help me?

A few seconds of blackness is expected as it loads the font images necessary to display any text on the screen.
Did you try to close it or something like that while it was black?

i know that 'few seconds of blacknes' are normal but i said that the game is not responding. it's not doing that now only when i go to desktop to turn stepmania manually but the black screen is here forever.

i started stepmania again and waited a little bit longer and it started but it took almost minute and half(i was overreacting when i said forever) but this wasn'thapenig ever before. what could cause so long starting time? yeah and one miniquestion:why im not seeing any banners? its just a detail but it's bugging me out PS: sorry for my english. i'm from czech

It could have been rebuilding the cache when it took so long the first time. 5.0.7 bumped the cache version because more stuff was put in to the cache to reduce load time.
I'm confused by the lack of banners too. Can you send me a single example simfile so I can try to see what might cause it?

EDIT: i can't see the banners on ANY song

Can you see the banners on the songs that are packed with SM5? ("Goin' Under", "Mecha-Tribe Assault", "Springtime")
Many simfiles have the wrong filename in the simfile, which forces Stepmania to look at all the images and try to guess which one is the banner. That code had to be rewritten to speed it up, so it might be guessing wrong now.

i can't see banners on these song song too but the thing is that i was seeing the banners before they stoped to show about a week and half week ago
