StepMania 5.0.9 has been released, with various minor changes, mostly bug fixes from 5.0.8.

Hello,

I could not run the new release (5.0.9). the message:

" The program can't start because MSVCR120.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this proble. "

You need to install this:

I have this problem too.
I installed this thing and reinst SM5. Not helped.

The github releases page has sections for all recent releases of SM5 with their release notes.

Someone on ZIV said that you have to install both the x86_64 and x86 versions of that MSVC library if you're on 64bit windows.
