I'm still trying to figure out the attraction to this mix/song.
I found the music to be somewhat mediocre, at best. But I'm willing to concede that as a subjective thing. However, as a solid /light/ player moving into more standard selections, this thing went waaaaay over my head in a big hurry. The faded arrows, the mines, the speed changes, the gimmicks... they are all there in "light" mode. I can understand why heavy users playing this on a keyboard might like this as a standard video game ala Super Mario or something. But for a light player using a mat, it is just an aggravation full of needless hurdles. Stepmania has many, many ways to modify the play if it is too easy. Try Disney Magic mode if you like gimmicks. Or try playing drunk mode when you're sober. Or just try playing drunk or under the influence of the controlled or illegal substance of your choice. There was no "beginner" level to speak of with this selection and "light" was not even close. I expect some surprises and challenges in higher levels of play, but lower levels should introduce advanced elements sparingly if at all while making increasing demands on speed, skill, endurance and eye-feet coordination. After all, those are the basic elements of the game, right? Unless you're not playing with your feet, than strike the coordination and the endurance and the speed and the skill factors. I suppose you're left with fine motor coordination and memory skillz, which then makes it a regular video game. Just my opinion, which clearly deviates from the judging that took place. This is still a popular selection judging from the discussion on the Step Mix 3 board and by efforts to replicate it. I suppose that's why I'm watching this discussion is to learn why it is so popular. Is it just because other selections are too easy? Just wondering. DJ

Well I know this topic's fairly err... DEAD cause SMix 2's over and all that junk B U T I just thought I'd add to FF's "-BPM tutorial" thing so basically, the -bpm goes back in time, so if say you make it -1 BPM If you make it +60 1 beat after making it -1 it'll have to go 1 Minute worth of beats but on 60 BPM so it has to undo the -bpm basically...

um someone revived this topic...so I might add few words too.
Digger Jones: this song is the first one from the series I played and ... I liked it. well, the music is something like max300 mixed with I have no idea what, which I actually like but I can understand that many people don't like it and I was told that this "music" is unbearable and that the person would kill for such songs (I thought I would KILL HER). well, the stepcharts have the same "features" at all difficulties so if you know one, you know what to expect at the others. When I played this for the first time I failed the song (I think) but the second time I was fine and I had fun and I did not need to memorize the song. (I have other people for that when it comes to playing this song) if you are good at adapting to the chart and reacting swiftly then you might enjoy the chart as I did. it was something new, unique and fun to play and people usually just stare at it^_^. (anyway I don't play the song but I noticed that many people love these songs and wait for new released songs under this series)
