    Default 20070201|First Day

    Chart Difficulty: 1/3/5/7

This is my very first publicly released simfile for Stepmania!
I have obtained Timo's permission to use his song via myspace message. Yes, it's the real Timo Maas' myspace. This is one of the better songs from beatmania U.S. As usual, I make every chart fun for each player's level of experience. The version of this simfile that will be available on my site later on will include the background movie from beatmania U.S. Enjoy and keep your eyes open for the rest of my crew's simfiles!

    responses?

This 7 foot pad chart might be overlooked in this contest since nobody likes easy stuff and of course HARD FILES AUTOMATICALLY MEAN THEY ARE GOOD regardless of step flow and graphics. Sarcasm of course :|

Well, I disagree with your sarcasm :P My steps are quite easy too, it's the fun factor that matters at all. ;)

I know that's what I set out to do. Keeping the DDR feel of DDR. Writing steps how Konami would do it. I am shooting to make my website the reincarnation of nDDRo if you guys remember that place. I just meant that nowadays nobody would appreciate a quality file with awesome graphics if it isn't a 12 footer.... It's sad really.

    Don't say "nobody" :P

Actually, after, hum... 9? years playing dance / rhythm games, I'm able to enjoy every step level, from Begginner/Light 1 to Expert 13 (or higher?). I like to think "what kind of movement can I do here", or "what was the stepmaker thinking when he put that weird arrow there"... but, yeah, it took me a lot of time to "understand and feel" the steps, and not only "stomp to the beat".

I'm sad that mostly steps from Stepmix 2 are high footers... as a Keyboard player, I can pass any song on any level (from ITG / DDR), but as a Pad player, I like to enjoy the easier levels...

Can't wait to see your steps ;)

It seems as if though most players now have enough ITG experience to pass double-digit difficulty stepcharts. That's why a lot of my simfiles are expert 10s. I guess that explains why my Stepmix 2 entries are 10-13s on expert. But still, you don't always have to have OMFG 16th note streams and jumps to enjoy a stepchart. I made a DDR version of Clear Blue Water nearly three years ago. The difficulties were a mere 1/1/3/5/8, but everyone still loved it. So yes, First Day should not be left out in the cold by any means.

First of all, awesome song. I've had this one on my computer for a while, and I love it.

But I thought we weren't allowed to use songs that have appeared in previous music games?

Any song qualifies as long as you have permission from the copyright owner.

Great entry! I had never heard this one before. It's in the queue.
