    Default SM5 a1 Problem

I h downloaded the game no problem on a comp before but for some reason on this one when i run the game it hits 70% of my CPU and runs at 0-1fps constantly. That includes the menus etc.I am running a triple core 2.2 AMD Phenom x2.

Your video card is crappy. Ensure Aero is off when you are playing SM.

That was my variant of this problem, anyway. What sort of card do you have, and what OS are you using?

geforce 7025 is their bottom-tier IGP, it's severely lacking in horsepower. Despite that, you probably should be getting more than 1fps. What does %APPDATA%/StepMania 5/Logs/Info.txt say?

It could drive up CPU usage if your video card doesn't actually support certain features - sometimes drivers will emulate functionality on the CPU for the sake of having it work.

Your info.txt looks okay, but it still might be worth checking nvidia.com for the latest driver. If you're on the latest, try going to %APPDATA%/StepMania 5, open Preferences.ini with notepad or any other plain text editor, find VideoRenderers=opengl,d3d and change it to VideoRenderers=d3d,opengl

    Hopefully that will fix it.
