[sm5] OSX Lion videos not loading

I'm having a bit of trouble getting videos to load in 'beat' mode (I don't usually play the step mode). They're all in the right avi format and placed in their song's folders, but when I load up the songs it just gives me a black screen where the video is supposed to be. Is there some way to fix this or will it be fixed in a future update?

1) SM actually works better with MPG (MPEG 1 or 2)
2) We're trying to work out video issues right now - it's really a pain and actually has had the Alpha 2 release delayed for a while.

Okay, I converted some of my files over to MP4, and they still showed up blank. So I ended up putting them in a RandomMovies folder and that still didn't work, except when I actually put them in in their AVI format.

So it doesn't seem that the files are in the wrong format. Instead, I think the problem is that Stepmania is not recognizing the movie files within each song's own folder as what needs to be playing. And within the Appearance Options, it only gives the choice between "Off," "Random Animations," and "Random Movies." There is no option to simply display the movie files individually for their own song. So is there some way around that in particular?

I said MPEG 1 or 2. We don't support MP4. Also, those options don't affect songs with videos set as the BG, those will always display unless you're using the static background option in song options (before playing the song)

Ohhhhh oops, sorry, that was a stupid mistake of mine.

Well, I ended up converting some of the files to both MPEG 1 and 2, and I still have no luck.
I guess I'll just wait for alpha 2.
