Using GIF as background?

I made this because I was bored and I want to see how it would look in Stepmania but I don't know if gifs would work as a background for a song.
Does anyone know?

background is possible to do that but it takes lots of patience, i don't know how, perhaps you could add it as a random movie?

Stepmania does not support animated GIFs. You need to use a sprite.

It doesn't? I got it to work before... 4 years ago when I was 13, I was a Naruto addict and sued Naruto GIFs in some of my simfile backgrounds (back when they were extremely off-synce files :P)

Maybe they took it out? But I was using 3.9

probably the naruto video was an .ogg file rather than a .gif file, try converting your .gif file to an .ogg

How do i convert a gif to a ogg? o.o

don't. multiply the image width or height and make the image into a 2x2 grid (or however large it has to be to fit all the frames).

then arrange them like
1 2
3 4
save the image as something 2x2.png, and SM will animate it when it is loaded.
