Default SM no longer recognizes previously working converter/pad?

I have an Ignition dance pad with an EMS Dualshooter ps2 converter. Both are in good condition and have worked without a problem in the past. In fact, I didn't even need to map the pad as it did so automatically.

For some reason, today Stepmania no longer recognizes my converter/pad. Even if I try mapping it manually, nothing happens. Anyone have an explanation for this? I know it's not the hardware because they have worked on this exact setup in the past and I just used them on my friend's computer a few days ago with no issue.

Sounds like you might have the same problem i had, if you got yourself a new computer lately.
The EMS Dualshooter is not supported on 64 bit windows yet, and drivers will probably not be made by EMS.

Nope, same computer, same OS, same everything as before. So I am terribly confused as to why this is happening.
