    This link is broken.
Are there alternative sites for downloading?
Just making sure: The link is fixed for you now, correct? The link has changed, and there was a short period there when the download page was pointing to the wrong directory.

You download, then install. Real simple.
EDIT: You really shouldn't worry about your computer, it'll be fine (your keyboard, well that depends on what simfiles you play :P).

Testing Stepmania 3.9a on Windows 7 Ultimate.

Not sure if people have this error or not but...

There seems to be a bug in the Edit/Sync songs section.

Apparently, when saving the SM file on the editor, it will say "Saved as SM and DWI." However, when checking the folder, only the .sm file was present and no additional .dwi, .dwi.old, nor .dm extensions were newly created. In addition, the .sm file itself has not been overwritten (I copied and pasted the .sm file to another machine and it showed the old data it had when it first detected the song folder) and still shows old data when it first loaded up the .sm file. I also checked the cache/songs folder filled with no-extension files and opened them with Notepad to see where the data was. It still showed the old data. Afterwards, I decided to clean out the Cache and Disk Cleanup. Yes, I went to Folder Options to show all hidden files in addition to unchecking the 3 boxes related to system files. I have not uninstalled it yet due to saved work on the Stepmania machine, though finding the .sm file or the no-extension file is nowhere to be present.

Another issue is that even when closing Stepmania 3.9a on Windows 7, when trying to manually edit the .sm files on the Folder manually via Notepad, I tried editing the .sm file to change some easy parameters and tried to save it, but access is denied when saving. It seems the only way to save it is to have the same .sm file elsewhere, move it to that folder, and overwrite it.

I keep seeing that thread pop up as an answer, and the only problem is the side ad literally rapes it so you can't see the post entirely. Some people will be discouraged reading it because of that.
