Thread: Import MIDI

    Default Import MIDI

So I have an MP3 and a MIDI with the correct BPM changes, matching the song. Basically, I want to import the MIDI into the StepMania editor so I don't have to sync the beats manually, and I can just start placing notes? Is there any way to do this?

If there isn't, I suppose I can just manually read the BPM's out of the MIDI and place them in with the SM editor

Ah, okay. Thanks. I suppose I'll transcribe the BPM's manually.

almost three years later... is it somehow possible to import midi-files yet?

it's amazing to me nobody has gotten it yet (or nobody with programming capabilities) how much easier that would make things for creating simfiles for thousands of songs. just grab a complete guitar pro tab (preferably with chorus and such) for any song from guitartab, combine the patterns you want to step on one single track, export it to MIDI and off you go. it could be so simple...

Hi there, I undestand you completely.
This is the dream feature for musicians like you and me. And for people who actually working in sound recording studios.
But most people don't need it.
We are all crying for it. But there is the great saying: You want it done properly- do it yourself. ;) I think I will do it myself very soon.
Since I have the resources in the first place. ;) Leo
