[SM 3.95 / ITG2 / OpenITG] 2D noteskins vs 3D ones?

I asked this on Boxorroxors and nobody seemed to know about it...

With a friend we're "maintaining" an ITG2 machine, and personally I'd like to add some DDR noteskins to match some themes I'm converting (i.e. Takuya's DDR Party Collection, done with permisison).

So, I'd like to know if it's possible for 2D noteskins (your typical SM ones) to coexist with 3D noteskins (er, ITG noteskins).

Is it just me or do the holds in the DDR noteskins look different??
I haven't played DDR in ages.

it's not just you, they look different to me too.

EDIT: hmm, they're right. Look at this image, ripped from the DDRMAX AC disc:



EDIT2: I found the weird thing. The arrows in the screenshot are using the DDR5th hold body and bottomcap xD. Fixed.

Yeah those aren't DDR's holds at all they look like some kind of cheap knockoff. :X
